Transformation of a chapel into a multi-purpose space
📍 France, Alsace (67) | ⛪️ Multipurpose Chapel | Architects : Lang Saint-André | 📸 2025

One of the main challenges was to respect the majestic volumes of the chapel while managing the stark contrasts between overexposed areas and deep shadows. Thanks to precise exposure control and localized color treatment, I was able to restore the neutrality of the walls. This allowed me to highlight authentic materials such as the old woodwork, engineered wood flooring, renovated plasterwork, and white moldings.
Capturing the transformation of a former chapel into a multi-purpose hall was an exciting and demanding exercise for my work as an architectural photographer..Â
Through each image, my goal was to reveal the subtlety of the project: preserving the spiritual soul of the place while highlighting the contemporary intervention. I paid particular attention to natural light, the true guiding thread of this report, to emphasize the balance between past and present.

This restructuring project, signed by the agency Lang Saint-André ArchitectsThis demonstrates a respectful and creative approach to heritage. As an architectural photographer, I am delighted to have been able to document this exemplary conversion in Ergersheim, where each image contributes to conveying a new narrative, between memory and modernity.
