A RARE DISTINCTION
Since the creation of the QEP programme in 1998, only 34 photographers worldwide have been recognised in the architecture category. And I am now the 3rd French photographer to receive this title. It is a source of pride, of course, but above all a responsibility. The responsibility to continue serving to the best of my ability the architects, urban planners, builders and designers who place their trust in me.
A EUROPEAN RECOGNITION
In November 2023, I had the immense honour of being certified as a Qualified European Photographer (Q.E.P) in the Architecture category.
Awarded by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP), this recognition is one of the most prestigious in the world of photography. It acknowledges a high level of excellence, consistency in quality, and a clear artistic vision of the profession.

A BENCHMARK OF TRUST FOR ARCHITECTS
Being QEP is not just a line on a CV. It is the assurance, for you as architects, of collaborating with a photographer recognised for his mastery of the craft, the consistent quality of his deliverables, and his ability to faithfully showcase your work.
It is also a guarantee of long-term commitment: site visits, light analysis, respect for constraints, meticulous post-production… Everything is designed to produce images that are useful, impactful and lasting.
A SINGULAR APPROACH
To validate this certification, I made an unconventional choice. Rather than composing a “best of”, I decided to present images from a single client assignment. Why? Because I deeply believe that it is the everyday projects, carried out with rigour and consistency, that best reflect my approach.
My goal was not to impress with a wow effect. But to show how I work with light, material, narrative… day after day, building after building. It is this vision, grounded in reality, that I put at the service of your projects.
I am Michael Bouton, architectural photographer based in Strasbourg, founder of Edifice Photo studio. I work throughout France and Europe, at the service of your built projects.
WHY THIS TITLE MATTERS TO ME
I receive this title with humility. It rewards years of passion, research and refinement. But above all, it drives me to go even further.
In my daily life as an architectural photographer, I strive to translate what you, as architects, design. To show what you imagine. To capture the strength of a façade, the intelligence of a floor plan, the poetry of light.
